On May 31. 2021, we release Aligned Elements V2.5 SP 5 (2.5.357/130.18463).

Reason for this Version

This version addresses a known scaling issue for High DPI monitors in the Windows client and provides a number of enhancements for the Web Client.

It also contains a number of important bug fixes for e.g. Test Runs.

Upgrading from previous versions

Aligned Elements V2.5 SP 5 is backward compatible with Aligned Elements V2.4 and earlier. Opening a project for the first time with a new client will initiate a conversion of some of the internal data to a more performant structure. The data integrity is intact and no information will be altered.

Note! As of Aligned Elements V2.5 SP 2, the User Group management contains a new User Group right for Locking / Unlocking objects. When upgrading a project from versions earlier than V2.5 SP 2, this right will be added to the project. The change causes a Message Box saying "Templates have changed. Database will be upgraded." Click "Yes" to proceed (our recommendation) and upgrade the project.

Note! As of Aligned Elements V2.5, newly created Users must do their first log in within 5 days of the user creation date! If more than 5 days pass, a Project Administrator must reset the created user’s password to grant the user a new window of 5 days to do the initial login.

Installation

Aligned Elements V2.5 SP 5 Windows Client is available on our website for download as a standalone installer.

For MS Word x64 bit compatibility, use the designated setup on our website.

To install using the standalone windows installer:

Uninstall any installed version of Aligned Elements on your computer.

Unzip the file and click setup.exe to install.

Upgrading from previous versions

Aligned Elements V2.5 SP 2 is backward compatible with Aligned Elements V2.4 and earlier. Opening a project for the first time with a new client will initiate a conversion of some of the internal data to a more performant structure. The data integrity is intact and no information will be altered.

Note! As of Aligned Elements V2.5 SP 2, the User Group management contains a new User Group right for Locking / Unlocking objects. When upgrading a project from versions earlier than V2.5 SP 2, this right will be added to the project. The change causes a Message Box saying "Templates have changed. Database will be upgraded." Click "Yes" to proceed (our recommendation) and upgrade the project.

Note! As of Aligned Elements V2.5, newly created Users must do their first log in within 5 days of the user creation date! If more than 5 days pass, a Project Administrator must reset the created user’s password to grant the user a new window of 5 days to do the initial login.
